London Wanders: Notting Hill

London is an amazing city in many ways, my favorite thing about it is its districts. None of them is the same, they all have their own special theme, atmosphere and architecture. It’s like they are small towns themselves, having all that one needs for living most of the citizens don’t need to leave the area at all.

Notting Hill is a district in West London, unifying artists, bohemians and fans of antiques from all over London (and probably further). 16602354_636417613222717_1227295017612276531_o

Streets are full of small shops with original furniture, decorations and hand made products. This part of the city is not only ideal for small business but also for collectors of unusual pieces.Coffee Shops, restaurants and traditional English pubs can be found on every step but be wear of the prices, this is one of the most expensive parts of London.

(Churchill’s Arm is one of the oldest pubs in London. Churchill’s granparents used to be  its regular visitors. After WWII the pub was named Churchill’s Arm and is full of his memorabilia)

Portobello market takes its place at Portobello Road from Monday to Saturday and offers various artistic products, second hand clothes, antiques and different kinds of original oddities.
Notting Hill is also well known for its carnival which is an annual tradition since 1966. It’s the biggest street festival in Europe.
